Whatever Happened To Chubby Checker

Checkers
Those of you as old as I am, and some of you that are younger, probably remember “The Twist,” which was performed by Chubby Checker. I heard “The Twist” on the radio today, and wondered what happened to the Chubster, since I hadn’t even thought of him in at least 20 years.

I still remember the lyrics…which is quite a feat and my feet sort of involuntarily started moving when I heard the song.

“Come on baby let’s do the twist
Come on baby let’s do the twist
Take my by my little hand and go like this
Eee oh twist baby twist
Oooh yea just like this
Come on little miss and do the twist…
My daddy is sleepin’ and momma ain’t around
Yeah…daddy is sleepin’ and momma ain’t around
We’re gonna twisty twisty twisty
Till we turn the house down
Come on and twist yeah baby twist
Oooh yea just like this
Come on little miss and do the twist…”

Those were the days, when I can’t remember having had a dull moment, nor any aches and pains. About ten years ago, I remember seeing Bill Cosby, live. He was extremely funny, better than I expected, and at near $ 100 a ticket, that’s a high bar to get over.

He had a good number of fat jokes, at which the audience roared, but one story he told really hit home with me. He said that when he was a kid, his Dad had a sound for everything and that it drove him absolutely crazy. If his Dad reached for something, he had a grunt for that. If he stood up from a chair, he had a grunt for that. If he rolled off the couch, he had an extended grunt for that. He swore to himself that he would never make noise when he had something to do and he believed it was true, until he turned 60 and found that he had turned into his father, overnight (or so he believed, until his family convinced him that he had been grunting and groaning for
decades.)

So he asked his Mother about his Dad’s grunting and groaning and she said that when a man or woman works hard all their life, their joints ache. I never thought much about this until my own injury, which caused a whole lot of aches and pains, some of which continue today.

That’s why I wanted to deliver a formula to the market that provides some kind of relief for the everyday aches and pains of aging. Our bodies never get any younger, but they can function a lot better if they get the nutrients they need to function at a high level.

My formula, which relies heavily on New Zealand Green Lipped Mussel extract, has been shown to inhibit COX 1 and COX 2 inflammatory enzymes and aid in the reduction of joint pain and swelling.

In randomized trials, Green Lipped Mussel was found to be effective in reducing symptoms in up to 76% of people who had joint inflammation and deterioration. That’s comparable to NSAID
medications–but without their adverse side effects.

It may not stop ALL the grunting and groaning, but it will likely help.

As for the Chubster, he’s still rockin’ and rollin’. He played club dates in New York, as recently as May. The reviews said he can’t move like he used too, but then, neither can the audience.

Dr. Bill is an orthopaedic surgeon and author. He recommends this pharmaceutical grade fish oil for more energy, reduced joint pain and increased heart health.
